Water Movement

I've added a lot of flow to the tank. I've placed an additional Hydor Koralia #3 (850 gallons-per-hour) and a
CoralVue High Seas 201B (1,500 gallons-per-hour) in the display tank. I've also placed a Hydor Koralia #3 in
the refugium.
The CoralVue High Seas pump is definately a cheaper knock-off of the Hydor Koralia. The plastic feels flimsier, the
cord is a lot shorter, and there is no suction cup on the base. However, the base magnet is stronger than the Koralia
model.
In the end though it pumps a lot of water and doesn't make any more noise than any of the koralias.

Upon cleaning and reassembling the Koralia #2 in my refugium, it began making an unacceptable amount of noise
when running. After speaking with Hydor, it appears that I misplaced two small rubber washers while disassembling
and reassembling the unit. They have sent out replacements at no charge to me.
In the meantime, I found a quick-fix while browsing the internet. Basically, a small slice of standard airline tubing
can be used to mimic a rubber washer and placed in the same location. This has proven pretty effective and I am no
longer getting any noise.
There are actually two ways to reduce the noise produced. A long piece of rubber tubing (placed as shown) can be
used to reduce the "startup clanking" noise and a small slice of rubber tubing (placed as shown) can be used to reduce
the noise made while running.

Here's what the Koralia 2 in my refugium looks like after cleaning it. I will have to wash it with
vinegar soon.

The water flow system for this tank is the same as for my
previous tank.
