Turtle Weed (Chlorodesmis fastigiata)
+ May 19, 2009
The turtle weed suffered some kind of sexual reproduction event and thinned away for a while, but it has now come back in
full-force. I had a little bit of it growing in my display a while, but it was quickly consumed by my fish.
+ February 28, 2009
This macro-algae continues to grow nicely.
+ January 10, 2009
This algae has now slowed down. The left part of it has diminished a little, while the right part has grown out.
+ December 19, 2008
The turtle weed doesn't seem to be slowing down.
+ November 27, 2008
The turtle weed continues to grow. It now looks just like it did when I first introduced it into the aquarium.
+ November 5, 2008
The turtle weed appears to be making a come back. This is unusual given that the rock appeared completely barren for almost
a month.
+ October 5, 2008
No trace of the turtle grass remains. I suspect that it simply could not recover from the astraea snails coupled with the
tank crash.
This is one specimen I want to try again though.
+ September 19, 2008
The turtle weed was almost completely decimated by astraea snails in my
previous system. A small patch of it is all that
remains.
Hopefully, it will start to grow back now that I have removed the snails.
