+ May 19, 2009
A small change in the coloration of this monticap.
+ February 28, 2009
Not much change with this monticap. Polyp extension remains good but it hasn't grown or improved color.
+ December 18, 2008
Some further recovery.
+ November 27, 2008
This monticap is recovering from some red cyanobacteria overgrowth that is finally under control. The scarred area where the
cyanobacteria took hold is visible on the right-hand side of the coral.

Montipora capricornis (or "Monticaps") are among the hardiest of short-polyped-stony (SPS) corals available in the hobby.
However, they still require good lighting, excellent water conditions, moderate flow, and maintained calcium & alkalinity levels
to grow. They are sometimes referred to as "Vase" corals because of their unusual "cup-like" growth pattern.
I purchased this monticap from an online website after seeing the two pictues above. Unfortunately, the third picture is what
I found when I opened the shipping container. The vendor has assured me that it should color up and I am going to give it a few
weeks to see what happens.
