This coral remains a fast grower. I accidentally fragged a small piece of it and that is also doing well.

This monticap may look like it's only growing towards the right, but that's because I accidentally fragged it on the left when I was moving some rocks around (to get my Orange Spot Rabbitfish out of the tank).

Montipora capricornis (or "Monticaps") are among the hardiest of short-polyped-stony (SPS) corals available in the hobby. However, they still require good lighting, excellent water conditions, moderate flow, and maintained calcium & alkalinity levels to grow. They are sometimes referred to as "Vase" corals because of their unusual "cup-like" growth pattern.

I am fairly close to having a calcium reactor setup to provide this coral with adequate calcium and alkalinity levels. Monticaps are generally hardy given sufficient lighting and water conditions, and I expect that this specimen will do well.
