Money Plant (Halimeda scabra)

This macro-algae seemed largely unaffected by the tank crash and it is now residing in my current system.

The money plant (named for its small "coin-like" leaves) is a calcified, green macroalage that can tolerate fairly low lighting. It is a slow-grower (as compared to macroalgaes like caulerpa and chaetomorpha) and quite hardy. However, if sufficiently stressed, the plant will perish (turning white) and release spores in to the water. Depending on the amount of spores released, the aquarium can be affected negatively (in terms of increased oxygen demand and pH fluctuation). The white structure that remains is actually the plant's calcium-carbonate skeleton.

I have been reading conflicting literature regarding the money plant's substrate preferences, so I have placed one specimen on some live-rock and the other on the sand-bed.
